Hey hey! I won the "First Day of Snow in Ashburn, Virginia" Contest! I guessed the 13th and it snowed today, the 10th. It only snowed for 30 minutes around 10:00 AM, but it was enough to be official! Here are everyone else's guesses:

Doubley also, for anyone interested, Stone Bridge High School is playing tomorrow at UVA for the state title! It's a pretty big deal. We're playing against Phoebus, who hasn't lost a game since 2007 (they lost to us). But we've won every single game this season, too. And we've beaten the other teams by a lot. So, it'll be a good game. I have feeling we're going to win this one. I don't think I can go, but it should be on TV.

Tripley also, I'm super duper excited for Christmas! It will super duper fun! And we'll all have a super duper time!

Did you know that on Google Earth you can change it to Sky, Moon, or Mars mode? It's really cool. You should do it. Also, if you go to "tools," you go into flight simulator mode! I personally enjoy flying in the Grand Canyon or in the Himalayas. Or into my school...

Well, I don't think I'm going to do NaBloPoMo (we'll see...), but Bryan's latest posts have inspired me to share some of my personal paint drawings.

I did these a while ago (when Bryan was on his mission). He told me what to draw and I would send them back in an e-mail.

my new ride

Well, last week I found a really good deal on Craigslist for a Go-Ped Sport. It's pretty awesome. I bought a new air filter (the red UFO thing) and a new spindle (it's inside the engine). So far it works great! I'm pretty sure the neighbors hate me because it's not very quiet, but they can deal with it. It runs on gas and goes about 20 mph. I'm looking forward to many new adventures around Ashburn! I would probably ride it to school, but it takes approx. 2 to 30 pulls before it runs smoothly. So... probably not.

I have to write quick because I have to go to bed soon, but I guess that doesn't really matter because I haven't written a posty in forever. Umm, just over the weekend Nathan had a Gold Team concert in Stephen Bower (the drummer)'s backyard. It was pretty much the bomb.com. Heeheehahaheeheeho! Um, I didn't make districts for track! But I still have to go to cheer everyone on. That stinks. This Saturday is the Father and Son's campout. It should be pretty fun. Me and my friends are planning on constructing and sleeping in a fortress that we will construct before sundown. It should be fun. Um, today Ali and I got out of school at noon to go to the airport to say good bye to Nathaniel. That was cool/sad. More sad. Now at home it's just dad, me, and Ali. It is quite the party house. Well, that's my life in a nutshell. A really small nutshell. I'm going off to bed. Gewd Nite.

P.S.- before I go to bed I'm going to learn how to play Nathan's guitar. Shouldn't be too much of a challenge.

Right now I am hungry. About an hour ago I ate dinner. Actually Nathan cooked a frozen pizza, but me and Ali ate it. So we made Nathan some soup, and he ate it. So right now if I could have anything that I wanted, it would probably be some corn dogs. And some jell-o. Mmmmm.....

Can a rectangle be a square?

As some of you may already know, a while ago me and Ali made a bet. For $5. Here is the bet:

Alison- A square can be a rectangle, but a rectangle can NOT be a square.

David- A square is a rectangle, and sometimes a rectangle is a square.

My reasoning is that a square will always be considered a rectangle, because a rectangle need to have all four corners 90 degrees and the opposite sides need to be parallel. So we agree on that.

What we don't agree on is if it is possible for a rectangle to be a square. I say that it is possible. Alison says that it isn't. My reasoning is since squares are rectangles, you know that some rectangles can be squares -- namely, the squares are.

Also, I can see why Alison thinks that rectangles can't be squares. I believe she thinks that squares and rectangles are two different things. Here:

So as you can see, fig 1. is a square and fig 2. is a rectangle. But fig 1. is also a rectangle. It is both a square and a rectangle. So, if we were to refer to fig 1, we could say a rectangle can indeed be a square.

I finally gave in to the temptation of blogging....

My first post will be on....

DAVID'S PARTICIPATION IN S**** B***** HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY!!!!!
(mom doesn't like personal information)

So, i decided to do cross country for my freshman year so that I would be doing some sort of club or something. I didn't make varsity or anything, but i thought that I did pretty good overall. Here is a video of me finishing one of my races:

Um, just kidding. Maybe some other time.

So, yeah, that's pretty much what cross country is. Running for 5 km until you cry.

Funny story:
One time, we were at about the 2 mile mark in a race. All of a sudden, this kid comes sprinting past me, and I'm like 'Man, that kid is fast!' I look at his feet and he has a shoe on one foot and his other is barefoot! He was my hero for the next 5 minutes. It was pretty funny.

Yep, cross country was fun. Now track will start up in the spring. Yay!
